Yosemite National Park drives are amongst the most scenic you will ever encounter,
but without doubt the most famous scenic drive of the park is along the Tioga Road, a 39-mile (62 km) drive from Crane Flat to Tioga Pass.

This road is usually open from late May or early June through to mid November. (Check current road conditions.)

There is a Yosemite Road Guide, available at the visitor centers, which contains detailed descriptions of each road inside the park and includes helpful suggestions of the most scenic stopping off points.

Some of the more popular routes and their driving times are:

  • Wawona with it's famous Wawona Hotel through to Mariposa Grove, a journey of approximately one hour.

  • Glacier Point: where the sunsets can simply take your breath away. about an hours drive.
